2011-12 Castaway General Information
COME AND JOIN US! Come and join hundreds of youth from around the Twin Cities area as we get together for an incredible time at the Castaway Club. For the 12th year Side by Side is hosting Jr. High retreats at the Castaway Club. These retreat weekends will bring a tremendous schedule of high energy activities, inspiring and relevant speakers, great music, prayer, worship services, and small group time for your youth and adults together. There are two Castaway retreats this year, Oct 14-16, 2011 and April 20-22, 2012. Each of these weekends promises to be great experience with numerous opportunities for youth and church leaders to connect.
INCREDIBLE FACILITIES The Young Life Castaway Club is located on a peninsula between Big Pelican and Little Pelican lakes near Detroit Lakes. Camp is approximately 200 miles northwest of the Twin Cities. Castaway is by far our favorite youth camp facility in the State of Minnesota. Their deluxe accommodations, great food and housingmake it an incredible place for young people to come together.
OUR MESSAGE Journey with us as we explore this yearʼs retreat theme ʻOn the Rockʼ. The theme will focus on the story of the “Wise and Foolish Builder” from Matthew’s Gospel, chapter 7 and will encourage participants to build their lives on the rock who is Jesus and teach them how to do so through relevant, concrete teaching.
MEALS Include a snack on Friday night, Saturday breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late snack and Sunday brunch. The food is fabulous.
HOUSING Participants will be staying in dorm style housing and cabins. Linens and pillows are provided as well as shower towel, so do not bring a sleeping bag.
