Tim's Story
My life has been a story of adoption, both physically and spiritually. When my birthmother gave me up for adoption, she had only one requirement of any prospective parents: that I would be raised to know Jesus. Even though my adoption was “closed” and I had no real knowledge of my origins, I had an identity in Christ from the very beginning. Even though there would always be questions about a family I would never know, I could stand firm in the love of the adoptive family that had opened their lives to me and in my relationship with an ever-loving God. I realized I was a child of the King and I needed to help others find their way to him too.
As a Youth Minister, a school teacher, a friend, or just a fellow pilgrim on this Earth, I have made it my mission to help people, especially youth, either find out or remember who they really are: people of infinite worth, loved beyond measure, and called to do great and wondrous things through Christ. I think the best way we can do that is together, side by side. Over the years, I have found great opportunities to love and be loved by the ministry of Terry and Kris Munoz and Side By Side Ministries as an organization. We have done retreats, mission trips, service projects, youth nights and rallies, and truly shared our lives with each other and everyone we meet. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve with Side By Side, especially in communities that are otherwise un-served or lack the resources to reach out to the most vulnerable, and it brings me joy. I can trace everything good that has ever happened to me directly to choosing Christ, choosing love, and choosing to serve. I would love to get to know you and tell you all about it.
Side By Side does great work, but we need your help to do it. Please consider a financial pledge to help us bring Jesus to people where they are.
“The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, "Abba, Father."
Romans 8:15
